Great Recruiting & Sourcing Tool!

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, Gem is a great tool for any company's recruiting stack. It's got a ton of features, great integrations, and they're backed by top tier VCs!

Pros:

I like that Gem has a strong database of email addresses that they verify, their reporting and analytics is very useful for identifying bottlenecks in the recruiting & sourcing process, reviewing top of funnel metrics for the team, and measuring template effectiveness when reaching out to candidates.

Cons:

I believe the user interface is a bit clunky and could honestly use a design make-over.

GEM it is

Comments: Gem is really good for recruitment and obtaining data for better outreach, especially in Recruitment and HR roles.

Pros:

This platform is really good especially in sourcing as it has automatic sequencing that will send follow-up emails which is time-saving. You could also integrate other software tools for seamless transfer of data.

Cons:

interface as it's a little confusing but when you get the hang of it then you get comfortable

Gem is the choice tool for your sourcing needs

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall we are very happy with Gem has our primary sourcing and outreach platform. We are also happy with the support from the team who are quick to respond to any issues as well as being open to feedback and product enhancements.

Pros:

Gem is a very intuitive product and may not have the bells and whistles of some of the other sourcing tools in the market, but what it can do - it does really well. The ability to customize drip campaigns and A/B test your sourcing outreach is the primary reason that we chose Gem, coupled with the ability to send on behalf of leaders across your organization also enables you to be more successful in your outreach. What's more, Gem can accurately identify and source direct email contacts for prospects to allow you to connect with candidates easily.

Cons:

As with any data sources, the email lookup is not always going to be 100% accurate.

Close to perfect

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I love the amount of features I can leverage without feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information. Gem feels very intuitive and well-designed. The feature I love the most are sequences (and their analytics), which are the biggest time saver & continuous improvement tool when it comes to messaging candidates.

Cons:

Although I love sequences, I wish there was a way to automate LinkedIn messages as well, which are currently semi-manual (still very intuitive with an easy copy/paste interface and reminders). The other thing I'm missing is more visual alerts on active candidates, so team mess-ups can be avoided for candidates who have recent activity or important notes in their activity tab, which sometimes doesn't show up in the sidebar overview.

Gem for recruiters

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I really like that Gem makes it easy to track my outreach stats and pipeline.

Cons:

I wish that you were able to send LinkedIn messages directly through gem rather than setting sequences for LI messages and having to go back and send manually. It feels clunky at this stage still.

Comments: Positive!

Pros:

Super helpful in terms of keeping track of candidates and standardizing workflows.

Cons:

I personally feel like the interface looks a little jumbled at times. Additionally, I wish there was a way to remove people that you have already hired at your company from the candidate search.

Very Easy to Use!

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Gem seems really straightforward and easy to navigate! Our recruiting team is finding it really helpful!

Cons:

In my role, there aren't many things that I dislike, I would say that maybe including a searchable FAQ page within the program to help troubleshoot if it doesn't already exist.

Comments: A+++++++
[SENSITIVE CONTENT] is the best, he listened to a lot of my feedback early on and really valued my ideas. The engineers are awesome. Early on we had a few technical problems and they would always act quick and fix things fast even if that involved coming to our company office. Customer Service / Support is amazing. They always get back to me really fast and always have a solution that will fix my problem.
I love their blogs, articles, open houses, recruiter meetups, and all the other events that they are always hosting. They offer so much it's just incredible.

Pros:

I've been sourcing for 22 years and I always prayed / hoped / wished there was a tool that would make my life easier. Gem is that tool. It's fast - you can upload a candidate from Linkedin, throw it in a project folder, throw it in a prospect req in GH, find a personal email address, write a personalized email and have it go into an automated followup sequence that will follow up for the rest of time if you want it to. And I can do all that in about 30 seconds. It's amazing. I can see who is opening my email, who is clicking on my links, who is replying, and who is interested. I can send emails as my boss with his real email address. I can see all my metrics and monitor my conversation rates. For candidates that never replied in the past, I can easily through them into a new sequence and continue reaching out. Its an amazing tool!

Cons:

I've been begging [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to build an ATS but he won't do it. :(

Organized and User Friendly!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: My company uses gem to reach out to candidates for recruiting purposes. Because of the sequence set up, we can automatically schedule and send multiple emails in hopes of getting a response. It is nicely organized by sequence and project and shows clean data at the top to show how successful your sequences are.

Pros:

For someone not super tech savvy, this was very user-friendly and well organized. It's extremely helpful in collaborating with my team and keeping track of our candidates and their status.

Cons:

We are moving from Google to Outlook, and in the middle of this integration some of our sequences are not being stopped when a candidate responds, unless we log into Gem separately to mark them as replied.

One of the best sourcing tools in the market!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Excellent, it beats any other sourcing tool out there.

Pros:

Achieving superb response rate thanks to the sequences and how easy they are to set up. Not only it allows personalisation at scale, but it also gives you the tools to send highly personalised messages. Their reporting and analytics tool has saved me lots of time and is well-rounded in terms of the info that you can download from candidates.

Cons:

There are mainly 2 things that I would love for them to improve: Making sure that the email that gem is showing is actually the email of the candidate (would be nice to know how it was generated to double check). It would be great if you could select candidates from a peoject/sequence and only download the info of those.

Great CRM and great insights!

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: I love it. It eases my work flow as a sourcing recruiter, I've had many positive candidate experiences that came from the automated follow-ups. It's simple to change up sequences and track the success of various campaigns.

Pros:

Easy for follow ups, tracking candidates, tracking metrics (including gender).

Cons:

The UI could be a bit more pretty and modern if I had to say something.

Easy to use - great way to stand out to candidates!

5.0 4 years ago

Pros:

I've been a Gem user for over 2 years now. Gem is super user friendly and intuitive. Because the product is so intuitive it was very easy to get onboarded and comfortable with it. What I love most about the product is how it automatically catches mistakes like double emails to the same candidate, missing links in emails etc. Gem takes care of all the details so I don't have to. My job as a recruiter has gotten infinitely easier! I also just love the core product. When I was sourcing manually I would often forget to send 3rd and 4th follow up emails -- now Gem does all that for me. Lastly, the data Gem provides about each campaign has been SO valuable -- I now have all the information I need to adjust and adapt my approach based on what that data is telling me. Before Gem I was sort of flying blind, I ended up doing a lot of data analysis manually which was incredibly time consuming and frustrating and I was never 100% sure things were accurate. I am a big fan of this product!

Cons:

Nothing really - I love this product! Gem's customer service is amazing so whenever we notice a bug or have issues with things not working well we've always been able to get everything fixed quickly.

If you don't have Gem, you should!

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Gem is one of the best software products I've used for daily use. Some of my favorite features include the talent pipeline, personalizing analytics dashboard, and the outreach stats to track which versions of sequences work best.

Cons:

One thing that I think could be improved is getting daily, weekly or monthly reports for analytics that people have run before so you don't have to go back every time you want to.

GEM is the BEST

5.0 3 years ago

Pros:

GEM is tackling problems that other recruiting tools have failed to tackle or don't do well enough. Everything I don't like about LinkedIn Recruiter, the ATS's I've used, the reporting tools, GEM has created a solutions and made those workflows easy and effective!

Cons:

It can be hard to get adoption of the tool because many recruiters comes from roles where they either didn't have great tools or the tools they had were ineffective. There needs to be a champion at every company and a SME to help get the adoption.

My only must have tool outside of LinkedIn Recruiter and an ATS

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I like how you can set up drip email campaigns and even thought sending inmails is manual, it's much better to remind you when you have to send that follow up(2nd, 3rd) whereas before it would be a one and done.

Cons:

Recruiter's Dream

Comments: Overall I love it and I wholeheartedly know it saves me a ton of time! Thank you Gem!

Pros:

It saves SO much time! It saves you a lot of typing as well, so it saves you ergonomically as well! I love how you can set templates for projects, that they are timed, and that they stop when someone replies... it is very intuitive and smartly made.

Cons:

I would love a pop out of the person's LinkedIn page for a quick glance, rather than needing to open a whole new tab to see their profile from a sequence/project.

Turbo-charging Recruiting

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall I feel like utilizing Gem in my sourcing/recruiting function provides me with a competitive advantage to help attract and engage candidates.

Pros:

Integrates seamlessly with ATS, LinkedIn, Calendly, etc. and provides excellent data on effectiveness of outreaches, candidate engagement with messaging (open rates, click rates, etc.), and qualitative sourcing information.

Cons:

Sometimes the "download as pdf" feature can be a little slow or buggy, but it's generally responsive.
