About True3D
Homes that use Matterport have fewer days on market because your interactive 24/7 open house gives anyone the freedom to see your home.
We've found the scanning application to be easy to use and intuitive to produce 3D tours and floor plans.
We get clients who are very disappointed that their pictures are coming back not stiched together properly and the quality/resolution, this is Matterports biggest issue for us right now.

Innovative way to look at the overall building
Comments: It helped us lease units to prospective tenants more easily than when we just had pictures alone and not the 3D tour.
Pros:
I love the "dollhouse" view on Matterport True3D! It is so helpful for showing our prospective tenants what the townhome or unit looks like! I love the measuring feature too! This tool was very useful during the pandemic when less people could travel to look at our available units in person.
Cons:
Other than that it takes a long time to capture a unit, I love the product it creates. I understand why it needs to take so long, because it literally recreates the unit as a 3D image, but that is the only con.

Thanks for the kind words! We're constantly working to improve our products, and we very much appreciate your business.
Long time user
Pros:
It gives context to a job and invoice that photographs do not. This allows us to justify invoices much more confidently as it shows the true scope and scale of a project.
Cons:
The scanning process itself doesn't always work seamlessly. Occasionally two scans will not knit together and so you'll need to adjust the camera and rescan, but these issues can usually be resolved pretty quickly.
Matterport has so much potential but drops the ball in major areas.
Comments: Overall Matterport is the best option for us right now and we really appreciate the value they bring so far, but there are too many flaws that must be fixed and im concerned that they are not improving as steady and consistently as they should if they want to maintain their customers and value in our industry.
Pros:
The value it brings and the simplicity for users such as home buyers, agents, etc.
Cons:
1) The photo quality and stitching photos together. We shoot 5-10+ homes every single day. We use the photos in our marketing package and the main reason we lose clients is because of the photo quality and the terrible stitching together of images. We get clients who are very disappointed that their pictures are coming back not stiched together properly and the quality/resolution, this is Matterports biggest issue for us right now. 2) Matterport virtual tours don't stay active forever. We have to charge our clients if they want to renew the matterport hosting... very disappointing to agents, builders, property managers, designers, etc. 3) The camera can't just take on snapshot without 360. We have photographers taking exterior photos and majority don't need to be 360 degree photos, why do we not have an option to just take one snapshot instead of 6 that come together as a 360 image. Collectively there is a lot of wasted time in a year for our team because of this. 4) The camera is absolutely terrible with handling sun flares and there is no accessory matterport provides like a lens hood, or lens filter.
A real asset for our business
Pros:
We've found the scanning application to be easy to use and intuitive to produce 3D tours and floor plans.
Cons:
Sometimes app restarts itself without warning
Matterport Review
Pros:
Once trained on the system and used a few times was easy to use.
Cons:
I dont have anything negative to say about True3D.
Alternatives Considered:
Way better options out there
Comments: Customer service is non existent. My responses from them were canned and didn't even address my issues. When I enquired about pricing structure to fit my business, i felt as though they just dismissed my concerns and didn't even care.
Pros:
The 3D dollhouse view is very cool and has a "wow" factor when pitching to clients, but after that it's not really very useful.
Cons:
Not having the ability to edit your images before you upload them. You have to shoot everything through the Capture app and sometimes getting scans to align or be positioned properly was a chore and took forever. If you don't pay the $3k for their proprietary camera that can't be used with anything else, then your scans sometimes don't render properly and look absolutely horrible in the final tour. It's like rolling the dice once you finish a shoot too. You have to wait hours or until the next day once you upload it from Capture to see if it even turned out right. If it didn't and you have to reshoot, then that's an additional trip to the job site and reshoot it all again.
Alternatives Considered:
Forced to adhere to ever changing policy
Comments: Support was horrible. Took forever, and very arrogant in reply.
Pros:
the tour transitions are very unique and immersive, and the photos via the matterport cameras are very high resolution
Cons:
the cost of the hosting plans are horrible, and the company keeps changing it's policies and plans. They have also started direct marketing services to compete against those that purchased the platform.
Such Poor Support
Comments: This relation ship started out sour and just get's worse. When we looked at buying our first matterport camera we did so asking many questions. One of those where is there any new products coming out in the near future. They said no. We spent a pile of money on a camera and there plan we did not even have 6 scans done and they released the brand new camera PRO2. I was pissed. We would have waited the 2 weeks for the new product. Called sorry can do anything for you. So I sent the original camera back since we where still under our 30 trial period and said screw it. Then they call we are sorry we should have helped you with this. They send me the pro2 camera. We have about 70 scans on the pro2 and it does not spine properly any more so now we have a 4k paper weight. you can not talk to anyone there. emails are a joke. hold times are 45 mins if I ran my real estate business like they run there business I would be out of business.
Pros:
Software you can't do anything with the software . They are a locked and controlling company you can not make any changes they have to do it when they are good and ready to do it.
Cons:
You can not do anything with the software unlike other services where you can adjust alignment and other items.
Matterport is amazing!
Comments: Overall my experience with Matterport has been fantastic. Their customer service is great and I couldn't be happier.
Pros:
I love everything about Matterport. They are always looking for the next way to keep adding more value to their products. The 3D scans are easy to use and intuitive, and it's easy to share links to folks that need to see the scans.
Cons:
There isn't anything I dislike about Matterport. Again, it's easy to use and share scans between parties that you need to, there's nothing to dislike.

Inadequate Support
Comments: Very friendly when your call is returned and tasks performed satisfactorily. Overall experience is disappointing.
Pros:
The software is user friendly and provides detailed information.
Cons:
Little to no support from Matterport team. Very frustrating and embarrasing when trying to meet my customer's demands.

Worst customer service you can imagine
Pros:
When the upload works, everything goes fine, but when you have an issue don't count on the customer service to help you.
Cons:
Customer service is horrible, i had an issue and took about 40 days to get an answer by email, now i am with another problem, i can't upload a project it does give me errors, the customer services can't help me at all, the compliance team takes a few days to answer each email, by the time it will be fixed i would have this house sold already, really bad customer service.
Good Product, but prices are insane when there are other options
Comments: Matterport makes a great product, but their fees (both initially to purchase their cameras/scanners) and to process each property are insanely high. There are many other options to produce equally good images that cost a fraction of their fees.
Pros:
The image quality and integration of floor plans are excellent
Cons:
"Supported" single shot 360 cameras produce questionable results with Matterport software. Even with excellent cameras, their software is really only meant to run data from THEIR camera/scanner. Additionally, their scanners are super slow, adding 3x the amount of time needed to scan a home.
Problemas con la cámara Z1 de Ricoh Theta
Comments:
