The best database to extract data about any company.

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: The overall experience with bloomberg was real swift, smooth and the best platform to extract data as it has the biggest database.

Pros:

The amount of data present in the bloomberg database is immense and one could find any company data whether it be listed or not. We can find data of company structure , company statements and what not.

Cons:

There is nothing as such I dislike about Bloomberg Terminal.

Great Value for Market Agnostic Investors – Cost Prohibitive for Most Others

4.0 6 days ago New

Comments: Love the market data and the excel templates are probably the best out there. However, the license cost makes it cost-prohibitive for most users, and most users won't use all the available data anyways

Pros:

The terminal essentially has all market data. They do not have a sum of the parts pricing model: you get everything if you are a subscriber.

Cons:

Since it is not a sum of the parts pricing structure, the license cost is quite high. Also, the terminal interface is still the same old orange and black screen as it has been for the past several decades. Huge learning curve and hard to find what you need without extensive training (which Bloomberg does provide to their credit)

Terminal Twilight

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: I use the terminal for commodities and equities. The commodity portion has gotten steadily worse since 2018. Data disappears, much of the cash pricing is in accurate and a mess. I have taken to using a competing product for commodity data. It is fine for equities and IB, which I need. If you need commodity data, any of the competitors offer a much better product at a lower price.

Pros:

The charting and graphing tools generally work well.

Cons:

Data is often incorrect and should not be taken at face value. Data sets seem to disappear without warning, so relying on it vs the competition can be problematic. The product seems to be getting buggier every day. The news is at least for commodities is awful...slow, stale, and not at all cutting edge.

Bloomberg Terminal is vital tool for fixed income managers

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I like the ability to not only see macro level details on economic and market statistics, but the ability to do a "deep dive" into all of these metrics. Also, the bond analytical tools are vital for me.

Cons:

The cost is overwhelming compared to all other software that I use. Only professionals like me can afford something like this.

constant deterioration of quality

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: i use bloomberg since 20 years, i see the last 5 years as a constant deterioration of the service quality

Pros:

- a lot of functions and data - good to cover the simple 80% of use cases

Cons:

- unreliable excel interface - bugs in software and data - overpriced in my opinion - support very timeconsuming and not of much help - not good to cover the sophisticated 20% of use cases - the GUI seems still from the 90s

If you can afford it, look no further

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

The Bloomberg terminal is a potent tool for every financial analyst. Data from all parts of the world on statistics, yields, interest rates, companies, news and many more are all compiled in one single platform. Integration into Excel makes analysis of the data a breeze. The customer service is excellent and helps with all questions.

Cons:

The Bloomberg terminal has a hefty price tag. The "retro" look of the start screen may be intimidating at first glance but once you get used to it, you will be fine.

Pros:

I used Bloomberg terminal for school. It's pretty complex with retro look. Powerful tool with financial analysis capabilities, and news etc.

Cons:

I don't know Bloomberg extensively enough to have complains. Perhaps looks is a bit outdated.

Fondamentale per analisi economiche

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Esperienza complessivamente molto buona

Pros:

Il terminale bloomberg è di fondamentale utilizzo per banche e assicurazioni e per tutte quelle società dal core business finanziario.Bloomberg è completo, complesso e in continuo sviluppo.Esistono weibinar gratuiti molto utili.

Cons:

Non sempre di facile utilizzo, bisogna abituarsi.Se si scarica troppi dati con la funzione BDH si blocca la funzione e ti chiedono di passare a data license.
