Industy-leading Time Tracking and Invoicing
Comments: Harvest has benefitted our business since inception. I tested all the tools, and this is the one we use and recommend to everyone we know with a SMB.
Pros:
Harvest has the best time-tracking in the industry, their Mac app is perfect for capturing time throughout the day (and even has a built-in notification if it thinks you've left it running and will auto-adjust accordingly if you let it). It also has deep integrations with other Project Management tools that mean you can easily track time wherever you are. And then you have estimates and invoicing - which again, seamlessly integrate with the time tracking functionality to make your life easy.
Cons:
It'd be great if they had an estimate to project function that could auto-setup a job when an estimate is approved. Currently this is the only manual feature. Retainer reports are also a little confusing as they don't obviously isolate actual payments from retainer balance updates.
time tracking at its best
Comments: really happy with it and can adjust requirements per client/ project needs - its quick and simple to manage timers throughout the day and stop/ start as needed
Pros:
simple to use and integrates to other project management tools, sits as an app or can be used on a browser - includes a mobile app so can track time when out the office on client meetings / visits
Cons:
time tracking continues unless you stop the timer so on occasions you close down for the day and if you forget the timer running it will continue until the following day! id does email you but if you don't look at the email then you miss it!
Alternatives Considered: ClickUp
Reasons for Switching to Harvest: cost and simple to use, also the app is a bonus for working remotely or out on the road between client visits
Easy, simple and fast to get going.
Comments: Very positive so far, took half a day to fully set up my team and projects to start to use it. I'm sure with time we will find more ways to improve how we used it, but so far it's been clear how to do everything without needing to call on the support team.
Pros:
Quick and easy to set up, you can bulk upload basic information on projects and clients to get you started. It's biggest selling point for me was it's simplicity and ease of use for time and project tracking.
Cons:
Would be beneficial to have different commercials to offer not just seats but site or org based.
Alternatives Considered: Salesforce Sales Cloud and monday.com
Reasons for Switching to Harvest: Ease and price made this an obvious choice
Time Entry Could be Better
Comments: It provided a platform for time entry, but due to the lack of user buy in, I don't think it provided accurate time entry.
Pros:
Harvest was able to produce reporting that we could use for capturing capitalizable time and it was easy to update cost rates.
Cons:
Time entry was difficult to do quickly, due to difficulties selecting the correct projects, etc. The reporting was outdated (the file would be sent to your email; you weren't able to just download the file at the time of export). It was difficult to identify the role of the various users without clicking into their profile.
Harvest Response

We're sorry Harvest didn't work for your team, and we appreciate you taking the time to share these pain points! I've noted your feedback for the rest of the team.
High quality timesheet tool
Pros:
Quality. The UI is very slick; they've really gone deep on how people use the product. Things like keyboard shortcuts and supporting regular vs decimal time when entering timesheets are a real time saver.
Cons:
Some of the month-by-month project reporting requires paging through each month. It would be nice to see several months in one view.
Alternatives Considered: Toggl Track
Reasons for Switching to Harvest: At the time, down to integrations with Xero.

Thanks for the compliments on our UI! I've noted your feedback on our reporting for the rest of the team.
Good information about time worked
Comments: It was a fairly fluid collaborative experience, but I think we needed more development on the part of the program, in fact we like that the program can do time tracking things and serve as a collaborative space so that we can have more development in the team.
Pros:
We spent a long time using Harvest with the development team, it gave us an order of the order of time that we carried out in the work group, it had a good way of measuring what we did, it had real tracking in which you started by turning on the PC and finished turning it off. This somewhat automated the records.
Cons:
Extremely basic reports, we believe that it was necessary to obtain more than just time and tasks in the report but rather to obtain access indications of collaborators and in the parts when entering each collaborator who made it, perhaps we needed a little more from harvest.
Ease of Use is second to none!
Comments: We've had an excellent time implementing and training staff with Harvest. It's exporting to our Quickbooks is excellent, and I'd recommend it to any small business as the cost is totally worth it.
Pros:
We were able to implement Harvest within an hour and train all staff within another hour. The ease of use is excellent, and reoccurring invoicing has been super helpful.
Cons:
We've had a few issues with numbered invoices going from 100 to 400 (example) and support wasn't the easiest to work with.
It simplifies time tracking and is easy to use
Comments: It eliminates the complexity and difficulty of keeping track of time and is very easy to use. We can see how much time is being spent on which projects and for which clients.
Pros:
Harvest is a convenient tool for keeping tabs on time and money spent on various projects and clients. We use it to monitor expenditures in real time and to plan for future initiatives by analyzing past work and resources.
Cons:
There have been no problems where I have been unable to complete a task. There aren't any serious issues, however, the platform might need some further functionality since it's so basic.
Report detailed time info
Comments: Relatively intuitive time-tracking and reporting software. Just have to remind myself sometimes to clock out when I'm switching projects or ending work for the day.
Pros:
I like drilling down to specific details about a project while tracking my time; Harvest lets me bill to a project and add auto-populated info about what I'm working on so I can report this info to clients. The mobile app ran well on my Android phone and was helpful away from my desk.
Cons:
I had to manually round my time (our organization bills in increments). This would be a helpful feature if Harvest could do this automatically.
Harvest is a decent tracker
Comments: offered a variety of time tracking capabilities but didnt seem to allow you to manually enter in time
Pros:
easy to use but wanted to manually enter in time
Cons:
too expensive, required constant monitoring

Good news! Harvest does allow you to manually enter time instead of running a live timer, if you prefer. Check out this article to see how: http://bit.ly/3AeUdlw. And if you still need help don’t hesitate to reach out to support at [email protected].
Perfect Product for a Sole Propietor
Comments: I've been using Harvest for nearly 10 years now. I love that it's feature-rich without being overcomplicated. I couldn't be happier.
Pros:
Harvest is affordable, but so feature rich and easy to use. I can track my time (I actually integrate with Timeular for this, but tracking directly in Harvest is easy, too.) keep track of project budgets, invoice and get paid via Strip integration, then reconcile everything when it's time to do account and taxes.
Cons:
Occasionally I have trouble navigating to the information I want. Updating an invoice without updating timesheets should be easier.
Alternatives Considered: TOGGLE, Basecamp and QuickBooks Online
Reasons for Switching to Harvest: The price was right and it had the primary features I needed - easy to track time by project and ability to send invoices.
Harvest is a great option to consider!
Comments: It would be considered a runner-up to utilizing Clockify, I love the visual aspects and ease of use.
Pros:
I think what I liked most was how the team lead was able to oversee my time tracking so that when it came time to report my hours I didn't have to be part of that process which I believe supported productivity.
Cons:
The platform seemed to glitch a bit, where time wouldn't start or stop tracking or would duplicate.
Alternatives Considered: QuickBooks Time, Clockify and Toggl Track
Reasons for Choosing Harvest: I made the switch because of a client wanted to switch, but I also didn't like the integration abilities or visuals of Toggl.
Switched From: Toggl Track
Reasons for Switching to Harvest: My client actually chose it because she subcontracted over 50 freelancers and it was what functioned best for her needs.
Harvest Has Been a Reliable Time Tracking Solution
Pros:
This time tracking software has been easy to use and accurate. I like how reliable Harvest has been.
Cons:
I have zero reasons to hate Harvest. Harvest is accurate to use.
Effective and reliable time tracking
Comments: Harvest has helped us simplify and streamline our processes while maintaining security and organization. This platform is a solid choice for any company looking for an easy to use and secure platform for time tracking.
Pros:
I like its intelligent approach and the ability to track our time, expenses and billing in detail. Harvest gives us a clear view of our resources, allowing us to make informed decisions and stay in control. I also value the security it offers, with measures such as two-factor authentication and data encryption, giving us peace of mind in protecting sensitive information.
Cons:
It needs to improve its ability to generate customized reports. Sometimes, we run into limitations when we want to customize reports to fit our needs exactly.
Harvest is the best time tracking and expense management tool
Pros:
The ease and efficiency of use. The platform requires very minimal time and effort to track the time spent on a task. Also, submitting expenses is another great feature that is very easy and efficient to use
Cons:
Nothing that I can think of at my capacity
good website for company to track the time and project budget
Pros:
easy to check how colleagues' capacity and also manage different projects' budget.
Cons:
will be easier if the harvest and forecast can automatic change the timesheet and forecast hours.
I love you Harvest <3
Comments: Overall, Harvest has significantly improved my project management efficiency.
Pros:
Harvest has been a game-changer for my small business. Its intuitive interface makes project management a breeze, allowing me to efficiently track time and allocate resources. The detailed reports have enhanced our accountability and transparency, crucial for a small business with different clients.
Cons:
While the basic features are robust, some advanced functionalities may require a learning curve. Additionally, occasional syncing issues with third-party apps have been a minor inconvenience.
Easy and efficient time tracking tool
Pros:
The initial setup and training were very easy and fast. Its simple UI for creating projects and setting and tracking it was the best part of this software.
Cons:
There was a slight issue in the reporting section. It didn't provide all the sorting options I needed.
A time & money saver
Pros:
It is so easy to track time every day, see what other team mates are working on and review the expenses / costs of a project vs the revenue it brings, helping us improve our processes
Cons:
Overall I feel it's a great product with very little lacking, can't complain
Data and information is power, and Harvest helps capitalize on better understanding company time
Comments: Working with Harvest has been an overall positive experience because it helps us keep track of billable/nonbillable hours and analyze how our company time is spent. This data has already given us insights into policy changes that maximize performance, profit, and output.
Pros:
* The API is easy to work with and works well. * We use Harvest for billing/invoicing, and it saves HR/accounting lots of time.* It gives us data on billable/nonbillable work hours we have been able to examine to restructure the way we work on projects to reach our financial goals. We've already seen progress towards these goals and we could not have made these realizations without Harvest.
Cons:
The 'payment type' (i.e. net 15, net 30, custom, etc.) is set static at a default--having the ability to customize this per client would be very helpful. Its sales tax functionality is quite limited, even with Quickbooks integration. The desktop Harvest app is a little 'buggy', but nothing that we can't work around.
Great Time Keeper
Pros:
This works great and is super intuitive.
Cons:
If only there was a mobile app. I am struggling with one or two features and wish there could be more than one admin.
Harvest is great
Comments: Overall I like harvest, it does the job that it supposed to do.
Pros:
I like that is super easy to track my time and that it reads my calendar so I do not need to type the meeting again to enter my time.
Cons:
The project management features in Harvest are limited, I would love to see some improvements in that, like task dependencies or resource allocations
Time is money
Comments: Easy to use and effective time-tracking software.
Pros:
The meaningful and somehow poetic quotes for every day of the week really keep me going. Nice way to get some inspiration while filling up the timesheet.
Cons:
Sometimes I completely forget to submit the week for approval. Tracking time on a daily basis is quite easy. however, submitting the week for approval it in the end of the day on Friday might be an extraordinarily difficult task.
Great Time Keeping System
Pros:
The ability to track time for clients through time entry for precise billing.
Cons:
So far, no complaints. It meets most of our expectations.
A great software for project management and recording of working time
Comments: We are using Harvest for the recording of our work time and for project management. The tool is really user-friendly and the cost per month is low.
Pros:
- easy to use- useable across multiple devices - compliant with the law- easy to set-up - project-related time recording
Cons:
- no individual working time models- no to-do lists- no realtime dashboard- no absence management
