Comments: Overall it helped us a lot to streamline our business activities and have a professional look accepting cards on the fly and also on our website. We are satisfied but support can be better (with less automation and more skilled agents

Pros:

It's ease of access (for new users), ease of use of the whole platform and its terminals and pricing plans that greatly simplify the whole thing.

Cons:

Its support is valid if you have commonly adressable issues, but if you have a specific need or problem to be solved you can get pretty frustrated pretty rapidly due to bots and slow response time.

Comments: Do not get this if you’re in Australia. Buy square instead. I purchased 5.5 weeks before my market event for Christmas, where I had purchased a lot of stock to sell. The device came quickly, I’ll give them that. I set it up, loaded all my products on the back end and did the verification process. The reader sat there for the rest of the time until two days before my event, I turned it on just to make sure it was working. Everything seemed fine but something in the app said I needed to verify myself, which I had already done (sent my drivers license etc), so I did it again and it said it should only take a few hours to verify, which was fine because I still had two days until the event. The day before it was still not verified but in the app it tells you that it’s connected and working, so I assumed it would be ok after going through the verification process twice already! There’s also no number to call, so you don’t have a lot of options or support on a weekend. I got to the event and the reader declined ALL payments because of a security issue. I lost thousands of dollars in sales because nobody caries cash anymore. I sent a support ticket with all of this info and I get a response THREE days later saying that my account is now verified and I can start taking transactions. Bit late and I can’t get rid of this Christmas stock now until Christmas 2024. 6 months of planning down the drain because I decided to give SumUp a go, when I should have just gone with Square.

Pros:

It’s relatively low cost upfront and cheaper transaction fees but I never got to use it!

Cons:

Customer service is non existent. You have to verify yourself multiple times and then it’s likely it won’t accept payments on the day you need it most

Terrible system and bad service

Comments: Would never recommend. They signed me up, took my money, and left me hanging with nothing but problems. This company needs to just shut down as a POS

Pros:

I like the fact that SumUp is mobile. All I have to do is download the app to a device with the internet, pair the NFC reader, and go about my business. I don't have to charge the NFC often either. It lasts for days before needing a charge, so if I forget to charge it, I'm still good to go.

Cons:

There is nothing at this time that I don't like about Sumup. It does the job.

Comments: Overall very positive and straight forward to set up. I set up everything within 30 mins!

I like that it charged the least amount per transaction made on my card reader. The reader is very easy to transport and ise

Nothing- I really like the system! It’s easy and responsive. The only thing I could say is that when you are trying to set up a transaction, if the customer no longer wants it, you can’t seem to press back on the card reader or app to cancel

Fivestar is great!

Pros:

I use fivestar quite a bit when going to Once upon a child to buy gently used clothes for my kids. It is based off of a points system and occasionally get coupons to certain places on it.

Cons:

I wish more business would join fivestars. I feel that we are in a society now that a lot of people like having a rewards program and it's a good business builder for smaller businesses as well.

Sum up good for card or remote payment links

Comments: I've never had any issues, occasionally a connection issue but a simple reset sorted it.

Pros:

In my business the sumup card reader is critical as students and parents all naturally assume card payment facilities are available and setup for bank transfer etc was very straightforward

Cons:

It seems certain cards (mainly amex) take quite a few days for payments to clear. No idea why

I love this app

Pros:

This app is very easy to use. I love how it send me my rewards and keeps them on point. I am able to search locations near me very quickly.

Cons:

One thing I do dislike about this app is that I am not able to link a new business. When I sign into another device it does not transfer my coupons over to my new account.

Comments: My overall experience with FiveStar is great. I love this app. Don't need to carry a lot of cards around.

Pros:

It is user friendly. You just go shopping, give them your phone number and you receive points. Then you use the points to get rewards. How simple is that.

Cons:

Only certain vendors participate in the program. There are expiration dates on some rewards.

Fivestars is great for a small business to build clientel!

Pros:

I love that it's very easy to use at the register, and you can see how many points you have earned from previous purchases. Also, very easy to implement your rewards.

Cons:

Wish every five star company/business that a user shops with could be listed on the main page. That way, One could see the points or incentives towards their next purchase. That would in tern- give them more reason to come shop at the business.

The good and the bad.

Pros:

Fivestars is an excellent software that is easy to use and is great for rewarding current clients. You can customize the rewards you give to current clients very easily. The text out feature is also nice to get your current promotions out.

Cons:

When you sign up for the program they sell you on the business matching (marketing) for people that are on the app and near your business. You can create specials that pop up when people that use the app are near by. The problem is they don't switch on business matching for you unless you sign up 20 new fivestars members a week. I operate a spa that sees a lot of repeat clients and we don't always have 20 new clients a week which makes it very hard to be able to utilize this part of the service. I think smaller businesses should know this before they pay the big price tag for the hardware and service. Or they should find a way to include smaller businesses more effectively.

This software encouraged me to continue to come back to get rewards, the rewards seemed like a bonus!

Cons:

Sometimes I would get too many text notifications, but I was able to easily opt out and this varied on the business.
