Incredible Coordination Platform

4.0 6 years ago

Pros:

My favorite feature of BIM Track is the absolute complete coordination it creates. We are more focused, on topic, and precise throughout every area of out build process.

Cons:

I don't have really any complaints about the software at all. The pricing could be cheaper, but cheaper doesn't equate to better.

Simpifies the Process

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: My overall experience with BIM Track has been phenomenal. The current features have been helpful with eliminating previous frustrations with the coordination process, assisted with cutting down the amount of time required for coordination meetings, and has streamlined the management of the coordination process. The customer service support that I have received has been exceptional, any issues or questions that I have encountered and brought before the customer service team via the live chat function has been resolved. On the rare case that it could not be resolved, the team has provided other options as a work around until a solution could be found.

Pros:

Setting up and integration on projects was simple, the four initial training videos were very helpful to me and the project team. Having the, "End User" training after everyone had a chance to get familiar with the software was extremely helpful. The functions that I have become familiar with assist in streamlining the coordination process, from grouping, to issuing, and viewing the collisions in the native software or Navisworks.

Cons:

Grouping clashes: I would like an option available to keep the grouping mode choices as long as I have the window open instead of it resetting to, "None" when I go to select the next clash test. I would also like to have an icon or indication that I have already selected the clash test to group so that there is no confusion on if I did group the test or not. Clashes to Issues: The 100 view limit on the clash groups needs to be looked at. There are a couple of instances on the projects I have been working on where there are more than 100 viewpoints so if there was an option to select that allows for those viewpoints to be automatically grouped as a pop up it would be extremely helpful. Sync Clash Status: If this feature could somehow work both ways between Navisworks and BIM Track, it would be a great way to streamline the process further.

Good tools for reasonable cost

3.0 5 years ago

Comments: It certainly have made it possible to collaborate for a project when PM and supers are not constantly working with 3D models while VDC relies on it everyday. Documenting issues, questions, comments and sharing it with project team for feed back has been such a breeze with automated workflow.

Pros:

Price! I feel it's a reasonable cost in subscription for the ability to track issues with multiple software we use. Managers and Superintendents can access information in the web while VDC focuses in tools like Revit and Navisworks. Makes it flexible to collaborate to find and illustrate issues in projects.

Cons:

Revit documentation process is still clunky. The BIM Track UI needs more of two way interaction between what is being worked in Revit and what is in BIM Track as issues. I often ran into situation where, updating issues were happening in the wrong item selected in the UI.

Best applications to prevent interference between different systems before &during construction work

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: BIM Track helped us get rid of a large amount of request for information that we received from subcontractors, which previously required a lot of time to be answered and also needed to hold many meetings and draw a lot of plans. With BIM Track we got rid of all that, and answering various inquiries is fast.

Pros:

BIM Track is one of the best easy-to-use applications through which BIM ideas can be applied in terms of detecting interferences with different systems, especially those related to the interference of different MEP systems with finishes and solving them before implementation begins. The assistance provided by BIM Track in tracking these interferences and also any emergency problem that may occur during implementation, makes it a major reference for answering any request for information submitted by any subcontractor. I also liked how he communicated with the mobile phone, which enables us to refer to him directly on the site and solve problems there without having to go back to the offices and hold meetings that consume a lot of time.

Cons:

There is nothing worth mentioning, all functions work as required, as BIM Track integrates with many auxiliary applications, which makes working on it more useful, and also the ease of downloading plans and sharing them with the work team is something that helps in the participation of all members of the work team By implementing the solutions that were proposed for the interactions between the systems at the site in a timely manner, which helps in completing the project work within the specified timeframe.

A low-cost method of detecting and resolving system interference in construction projects

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: BIM Track contributed to increasing the interaction between team members to create creative solutions that contribute to eliminating these interferences in the easiest and least expensive way.

Pros:

BIM Track transfers the theories and ideas of BIM to the ground and enables you to discover flaws and deficiencies in various systems as well as architectural or city works before or during implementation processes, which contributes to eliminating the problem of repeating work more than once, as well as reducing project downtime.

Cons:

There are no unwanted things in BIM Track, it is easy to use, and the mobile application is very useful for solving problems directly on the site.

BIM Track Review

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall, very good experience in using BIM Track.

Pros:

It's easy to use with the interface that it has. I'm a fan of its tracking functionalities as you can easily monitor the issues and address it.

Cons:

Probably on the improvements on exporting clash reports and naming the header. Because there are some cases wherein I needed to create various reports with the corresponding naming format. But the way the platform has been set up, it would not allow you to do so unless you edit the name of the project to reflect that name on the heading. Also when I export clashes from Navisworks using export to viewpoints functionality, the clash points can't be displayed properly when you go to "View in Model".

One of the best BIM collaboration tool in the market

4.0 5 years ago

Pros:

I'm new to construction but I've been in the design industry a long time. But regardless of the nature of both of those worlds, using BIMTrack is a no-brainer. This tool helps collaboration from a broad spectrum of team players. It's easy to use and makes sure each member is held accountable to their assigned issues.

Cons:

It's been challenging mobilizing this technology to the field. The 3D viewer is not as efficient as the big name out there. Our workflow as a GC relies on different file formats submitted by our subcontractor. Our files are not in IFC format.

BIM Track assists in creating a log for issue tracking in 3D Models.

3.0 6 years ago

Pros:

This compatible with Revit, Navis and Tekla. Issues can be accessed using Navis, Revit. Tekla or the cloud. History of the issues can be viewed.

Cons:

It adds an extra layer to the BIM coordination process, wherein users still track issues by creating viewpoints in Navis. Coordination data is more detailed using BIM track but need not be desirable on all projects.

BIM Track Review

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall, it has worked well to use for BIM Design Coordination. I have no complaints other than what was listed above.

Pros:

The ability to view issues in the model. It is very helpful to be able to jump to an issue with the Navisworks plugin.

Cons:

At times, the view in model button doesn't work. This is usually solved by restarting navisworks, but this can be time consuming when opening larger models.
