choose better software

What Is Sharp Archive?

We service businesses and organizations subject to mandatory archiving for social media and communication. Our users come from various industries such as finance, healthcare, education, and government.

Sharp Archive was founded by financial professionals who are also under mandatory archiving rules. When we were looking for software solutions, we were surprised by how expensive and out-of-date the options were. In some cases, the software had not been updated to meet the latest regulations.

Who Uses Sharp Archive?

Regulated businesses and organizations or other litigious industries. We make archiving simple, efficient, and immediately accessible on the cloud.

Cost Less, Works and Looks Better

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: We’re very happy with our choice and we feel that Sharp Archive takes a lot of pride in
their product. We feel we’re early on in what will become a huge player over the next
couple of years and we’re excited to be a part of the ride.

Pros:

We were with another software for about 5 years. They wanted us to sign a 27 month (weird number?) contract and we thought it would be a good idea to look around. Not that looks matter, but we left another company that felt very dated. In the early 2000s, they used to make websites where it’s all in the middle of the screen. It was like that. We weren’t unhappy with what it did, but the software hadn’t changed at all the whole time we were with them. They added a few more integrations, but we didn’t need them. It seemed to take forever to load up, it was very utilitarian, and we always needed tech support to make changes. Sharp Archive works very smoothly, loads up quickly, feels very modern. While we would never make a decision off looks, but it looks and feels a hundred times better. We noticed this right away when we checked out their demo. When we connected our accounts, it loaded up a decade of posts in about 5 seconds. We were able to totally onboard our accounts within a few minutes without needing any tech support. To us this is extremely important. The old company’s tech support was responsive, but it’s much better to not need it in the first place. They (Sharp Archive) sent us welcome emails saying that they were happy to help, but the set up was so easy that we didn’t need help. Very happy we made the switch. We’re a little embarrassed we didn’t do it earlier. Feels like going from a flip phone to a smart phone. Also the cost is less.

Cons:

It’s a new software. Coming from a software that never changed, it’s surprising to see improvements every 1-2 months. There’s a downside to this in that they are still adding integrations, features, etc. and they seem to have a pattern of launching something and fixing it over the next month. Not really a big deal, it’s mostly visual stuff.

Sharp Archive - Cost Effective Archiving for Compliance

3.0 5 months ago

Pros:

The price is very affordable especially if you are just looking for compliance with public records laws. I also like that you can view the feed as it appears on the social media website.

Cons:

The site is slow and clunky at times. It doesn't keep you logged in when you set it to 'keep me logged in'.

Alternatives Considered: Pagefreezer and Smarsh

Reasons for Choosing Sharp Archive: CIVIC Plus was formerly Archive Social and that was who we switched from. The switch was due to several reasons. Firs the user interface was not user friendly and it was expensive. Now that it's changed to CivicPlus the user interface has probably improved.

Great Cost Value & Platform Seamlessness

4.0 5 months ago

Comments: The overall experience has been pretty good! The account reps have been good to work with, the communication is timely. The platform is great to work on; we are looking forward to the continued partnership and solution growth!

Pros:

I really enjoy the seamlessness of the product, i.e. adding the feeds, emails, accounts is super easy. Searching capabilities is great. Competitive cost has also been a great benefit to utilizing Sharp Archive. Great tool for compliance!

Cons:

The only thing I would say is that I continue to look forward to the new developments and advancements in the platform. It is a newer solution, and with newer solutions--there are the natural little tweaks here and there. I am excited to continue to watch for new features, smooth platform navigations, and even additional integrations!

Alternatives Considered: Smarsh and Proofpoint Social Discover

Reasons for Switching to Sharp Archive: Cost, ease of schedule a demo, platform ease.

Best Value, Pleasure to Use

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: We are a small investment business where all of us wear many hats. I do some of the day to day compliance work, but our [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is technically the “[SENSITIVE CONTENT]”. We do some social media posting and our compliance consultant (outside/third party) told us that we had to create a backup of all posts. He said that if we weren’t very active we could just do screenshots and save them. We did this for a few months before we started looking for a way to automate this with software. We were surprised that the software that did this was several hundred dollars per month! It seemed like a lot and we were just going to stick with screenshots. All the options we looked at billed annually. Our [SENSITIVE CONTENT] left the decision with me, so I was scared of choosing the wrong thing and being stuck with it! We eventually came across Sharp Archive and it immediately felt very different. For one, it was monthly only and the price was WAY less than every other option. We did a few demos and we just liked Sharp Archive the best.

Pros:

In general we love it. Our needs are simple and I only go in there a few times per month. We just need it to work without having to think about it. They feel very good natured. Feels like they have good vibes. When we were doing the demos, Sharp Archive definitely felt more powerful and I guess “classy” (like it has cool style/design). We couldn’t figure out why it cost less? We probably would have gone with them even if it looked terrible. We just wanted to automate some compliance and for us it’s kinda “checking off a box”. We also like how they are fully “on the cloud”. Some software makes you download something. I work remote two days per week and so this would be a pain. It’s nice to just bookmark them in Chrome and it works the same at home. Anyway, it’s good, feels good, does what we wanted..

Cons:

I hate to be critical, but I hope they expand what Sharp Archive can archive. They'd get a lot more business! Right now it only does the four main social media companies. For us this works because we’re just on FB, Twitter, and LinkedIn. But we’re also using an email archiving software and we wished we could just move it all into one place. Also, our owner wants to be able to text with clients (which has to be archived too). He said that right now it’s a pain because they will text him and he has to always call or email back because otherwise it’s not compliant. It was something he asked me to see it was possible, but "low importance". Maybe in the future.

Sharp Archive Response

Thank you for your feedback, this really helps us know how to deliver more value to you. We both have the same goal: for you to experience the most value as possible. We hear your critique about expanding what we can archive. We also want this. We are currently developing new features and new archiving channels. It's important to us to simply announce new features that work today rather than publicly share what we are working on. We feel that this is a better experience for users and minimizes the risks of broken promises. All we can say for now is stay tuned. We will let everyone know as soon as there are new archiving options. You're always welcome to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. Again, thank you for your input and happy archiving!

User Friendly, Essential Platform

5.0 3 years ago

Pros:

Having worked with multiple start ups, implementing systems that support scale is always front of mind. Sharp Archive addresses both the need to be prepared not just legally but efficiently. Automatic syncing means that legal requirements can be followed without relying on any one team member’s memory or manual data transfers. The interface is extremely user friendly providing a low lift implementation for any sized team. The site is intuitive to navigate which makes even archived information, easily accessible. Now I’m hoping they tackle sales & inventory management next.

Cons:

No downside to report as of yet; the software was easy to use!
